Our company began over a half century ago in its predecessor firm, Kendall Real Estate. In 1972, one of the current partners of Hourihane, Cormier & Associates, Bill Cormier, joined his father at Kendall Real Estate. Shortly thereafter in 1975, Mark Hourihane joined the firm and the seeds of today’s HCA were sown. In 2003, Patrick Hourihane joined HC&A and currently serves as the Designated Broker for Massachusetts.

The 1970s and 1980s saw steady growth in Kendall Real Estate, and by the late '80s the firm had grown to four offices and scores of agents. In the early '90s the local and national real estate market experienced one of the most dramatic downturns in decades and the firm underwent a number of changes including reverting to its single office status and undergoing a change in ownership. By the end of 1997, although still the leading company in the local marketplace, the firm closed its doors, and in January 1998 Hourihane, Cormier & Associates came into existence.

All of the firm’s Rochester agents joined the new company and from the outset, Hourihane, Cormier & Associates continued in its historical status as the leader in the local market. During the past decade, the staff has grown to its current level of two dozen full-time agents. We are proud of our position in the local real estate market and extremely proud of our fine staff of professionals. We truly believe that they constitute the finest group of practitioners in the business – bar none!
